Flora Deanne ‘Dodie’ McBride

Flora Deanne “Dodie” McBride passed away at Sierra Vista Hospital in Truth or Consequences, N.M. on Dec. 30, 2011. She was born on Sept. 1, 1932 to John and Mabel (Dunning) Wagner of Mancos. She was a wife and homemaker. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies included reading, and genealogy. She loved history and was fortunate to be able to go and see some of the history in the various states that she lived in, and also enjoyed honoring Civil War Veterans by placing flags at grave sites. She resided in Arrey, N.M. for the past eight years.

Dodie is survived by sisters Helen Small (Bill) of Cortez, Charline Ives (Larry) of Midland, Texas, daughters Colleen Pasley (Milton) of Bloomburg, Texas, Patricia Woods (Duane) of Caballo, N.M., Kathy Diestelhorst (Donnie) of Bunker Hill, Ill., and son Michael McBride (Elisa) of Arrey. She had several grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, and William Pasley, Shawn Woods (Summer), Sabrina Montoya (Daniel), Tamra Chatfield (Joe), Randy Diestelhorst (Maggie) and Jamie Diestelhorst, Scottlin McBride, Victoria Luna (Brian), Amber Beaty, Diamond and Gary Whiteley and Ashley Jordan. She had 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband James D. McBride, son James M. McBride, father and mother John and Mabel Wagner, daughter-in-law Brenda McBride, granddaughter Michaela McBride and grandson James Diestelhorst.

Arrangements are by Kirikos Family Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and services will take place at a later date in Cortez.
