cortez colorado Jimmie Whiterock, 25, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment — strike/shove/kick. He was sentenced to 18 months of supervised state probation and was ordered to pay $1,312.50 in fines and costs. He was ordered to obtain a domestic violence evaluation within 15 days and follow all recommendations and to attend regularly, participate in, and successfully complete counseling. He must also complete enhanced outpatient treatment to address substance abuse issues, and must obtain a trauma assessment for the child present if it has not already been completed. He was ordered to write a three-page paper on the effect of domestic violence on children, to be submitted to probation within 60 days. He must complete 58 hours of useful public service/community service by Feb. 26, 2013. He was ordered to resolve a warrant for Las Vegas, Nevada within 90 days of sentencing. He must pay all statutorily imposed fines, fees, and costs imposed by the court. He shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator.

cortez colorado Joseph P. Maestas, 20, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of 3rd degree assault — knowingly/recklessly causing injury. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, to begin March 26, and to 24 months of supervised state probation concurrent with case number 11M129. He was also ordered to pay $2,148.30 in fines and costs, and must write a three-page paper on the effect of domestic violence on children, to be submitted to probation within 60 days. He must obtain a domestic violence evaluation within 30 days of sentencing and follow all recommendations by attending regularly, participate in, and successfully complete counseling. He was ordered to obtain a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations. He was ordered to complete 50 hours of useful public service/community service by Feb. 26, 2013. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. He must pay all statutorily imposed fines, fees and costs imposed by the court. He shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator.

cortez colorado Joseph Paul Maestas, 20, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of 3rd degree assault — knowingly/recklessly causing injury. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail. Defendant’s 24 months probation previously imposed was revoked, and a new term of 24 months supervised probation was reinstated. This is concurrent with case number 11M574. He was also ordered to pay $1,473 in fines and costs. Defendant must write a letter of apology, to be submitted to probation within 30 days of sentencing. He must undergo an anger management evaluation and follow all recommendations. Defendant was ordered to follow all recommendations of probation officer, including mental health evaluation and treatment if probation finds it necessary. Defendant must pay all court and statutorily imposed fees and costs, and must perform 24 hours of useful public service/community service by July 22, 2012. A protection order remains in effect as modified to allow letter of apology through probation. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Probation sentenced on March 26, 2012 is revoked and reinstated for a new 24 months concurrent with case number 11M574. A jail sentence of 30 days is imposed.

cortez colorado Donavan Jim Kee, 27, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of 3rd degree assault — knowingly/recklessly causing injury. He was sentenced to 18 months supervised state probation and was ordered to pay $1,848.50 in fines and costs. He was ordered to obtain a domestic violence evaluation within 30 days of sentencing and follow all recommendations, and to attend regularly, participate in and successfully complete counseling. He must undergo frequent and random tests for drug and alcohol use, to be paid for by the defendant. He must attend parenting class through the Pinon Project. Defendant was ordered to pay all statutorily imposed fines, fees and costs imposed by the court. He shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator. Restitution is open for 90 days. The protection order remains in effect as modified.

TUESDAY, MARCH 27

cortez colorado Sarah A. Harris, 19, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment — strike/shove/kick. She received a deferred sentence of 12 months supervised state probation, and was ordered to pay $861 in fines and costs. She must complete 48 hours of useful public service/community service by June 30, 2012. Defendant must obtain an anger management evaluation and follow all recommendations. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Defendant must follow all conditions of probation. She must violation no laws — traffic or criminal, and must keep her address current with the court.

cortez colorado Farley Calvert, 34, of Cortez, pleaded no contest to one count of 3rd degree assault — knowingly/recklessly causing injury. He was sentenced to 70 days in jail with 57 days credit for time served. Defendant was ordered to pay $313 in fines and costs. He shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of his probation officer and/or collections investigator. Defendant must clear up his Arizona matter, with possible extradition.

cortez colorado Maurice Austin Nat, 19, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of 3rd degree assault — knowingly/recklessly causing injury. He received 30 days credit for time served and was ordered to pay $997.50 in fines and costs. This case is consecutive with case number 12M6. Restitution has been ordered in the amount of $788.

cortez colorado Isaac G. Sanchez, 30, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of civil protection order violation. He was sentenced to five days in jail, to report on April 6, 2012. Defendant was also ordered to pay $276.50 in fines and costs.

cortez colorado Dave M. Sanders, 27, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of protection order violation. Defendant has been sentenced to Department of Corrections. He was ordered to pay $209.50 in fines and costs in this matter.

cortez colorado Robert Shane Williams, 27, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of theft — under $500. Defendant was sentenced to eight years in case number 11CR94. He was ordered to pay $209.50 in fines and costs in this matter.

cortez colorado Jaymie L. Lobato, 21, of Dolores, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment — strike/shove/kick. She received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation and was ordered to pay $212.50 in fines and costs. She was ordered to violate no laws — traffic or criminal, and must keep her address current with the court. Defendant was ordered to complete an anger management evaluation and to attend classes as recommended. She must perform 12 hours useful public service/community service by Feb. 28, 2013.
