Frances James ‘Jim’ Pilon

Funeral mass for longtime Dove Creek resident Francis James “Jim” Pilon will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Dove Creek. Interment will follow at Dove Creek Cemetery.

Visitation has been scheduled for Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel.

Jim was born Oct. 22, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Allison L. and Myrle Margaret (Lucas) Pilon. He passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his residence at the age of 69.

On Oct. 6, 1962, Jim married Beverly Mae Baird at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cortez. Jim was a man who never took life for granted; he enjoyed each day to the fullest. Riding ATVs and hunting brought Jim much happiness. He also enjoyed beadwork, crafts and traveling.

Surviving Jim are his loving wife of 49 years, Beverly Pilon of Dove Creek; and his daughter, Regina Monique Brungardt and husband Tom of Kansas City, Kan. Jim also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Catherine Brungardt, Petra Brungardt, Maryann Brungardt, Maggie Brungardt, Gerard Brungardt, Luke Brungardt, and Nicholas Brungardt; his siblings, Jeanne Todd and husband Ken of Cortez, Joseph Pilon of Chandler, Ariz., and Jerry Pilon and wife Leta of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; by his son, Alan Lamont Pilon; and by his siblings, Jon Pilon, Alan Pilon, and Mary Pilon.
