Vera Mae Dexel
Celebration of Life services for former Dolores resident and current Casa Grande, Ariz. resident Vera Mae Dexel will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18 at The Country Inn and Suites in Mesa, Ariz.
Vera was born June 30, 1943 in Flint, Mich. and passed away on Aug. 14, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa with her loving family and best friend, Beckie Hoey, by her side.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Jerry Dexel; daughters, Kimberly Goodall (Wade) of Mesa, Mischel Dusek (Mark) of Tucson, Ariz. and Melissa Strietmatter (Steve) of Heyworth, Ill.; grandchildren, Amber Szymeczek (Matt) of Queen Creek, Ariz., Casey Goodall of Mesa, Ashley Tate of Coalgate, Okla., Chance Tate (Alyssa) of Cortez, Kaylee Perkins, Evan Dusek, Sophia Dusek, Cameron Dusek, and Jenny Dusek of Tucson, and Sarah Streitmatter of Heyworth; great-grandchildren, Kage Schiewe, Zach and Lilly Goodall, Billy and Maddison Tate, Jake Hinkle, Elijah Perkins and Ella Szymeczek (due any day) and baby Hinkle due in February; her lifelong special friend, Beckie Hoey, and many extended family and friends.
Vera is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Rhonda Tate; her mother, Loraine Rhodabaugh; and by one brother and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vera’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 6063 E. Arbor Ave., Mesa, AZ 85206.
