Lena Kaytso Velez
Lena Kaytso Velez, 54, of Cortez, passed away on Sept. 5, 2012 in Grand Junction, Colo.
Lena Kaytso Velez, daughter of Lilly Black Kaytso and Billy Kaytso, was born on Jan. 3, 1958 in Monument Valley, Utah into the Navajo Clan Bit’ahni Clan, and born for the Tachini Clan.
Lena had four brothers, Bill Yazzie Kaytso of Cortez, the late Jay M. Kaytso, the late Leo Kaytso, Sam Y. Kaytso of Dinehotso, Ariz.; and two sisters, Lucy Kaytso of Price, Utah and Julia Kaytso of Kayenta, Ariz.
She had three sons, Darwin James, Lydell James, and Frazier Yazzie, all of Cortez; and three daughters, Danielle James of Phoenix, Ariz., Franell Yazzie of Montana, and Rochelle Velez of Tuba City, Ariz.
Lena also leaves behind eight grandchildren.
Lena Kaytso Velez will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends.
May she walk in beauty.
