Ruby Luetta Trone
Graveside inturnment services for lifelong area resident, Ruby Luetta Trone, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Cahone Cemetery. A meal will follow the service at the Cahone Recreation Center.
Ruby was born on Sept. 9, 1927 in Cahone, the daughter of Charles William and Mary Luetta (Throckmorton) Ayers. She passed away on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 85.
Ruby attended the Independence School in Cahone. On Oct. 23, 1943 Ruby married Raymond Cassity. The marriage ended in divorce and she then married Lee Trone on Nov. 10, 1963. She enjoyed reading Western novels but her greatest love was her family.
Surviving Ruby are her children, Ray Cassity of Cortez, Marlene Carpenter of Cortez, Paul Cassity and wife Norico of Okinawa, Japan, and Troy Trone and wife Vicki of Cortez; her brothers, Wesley Ayers and wife Peggy of Egnar, Colo., and Velda Ayers and wife Virgie of Cortez; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Ayers; her husband, Lee Trone; her son, Phillip “Phil” Cassity; and her siblings, Sylvia Risenhoover, Rose Neely, Zola Maselen, Clyde Ayers, Millard Ayers, and Ernest Ayers.
