Former Cortez resident, Rick and Jessica Vialpando of Summerville, S.C., proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Sophia Isabel Vialpando at 3:33 a.m. on August 18, 2012. She arrived at Medical University of South Carolina, and weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long at birth. Sophia’s happy grandparents are Eloy and Alice Vialpando of Cortez, and Ron and Sharon Hoffman of Rose Hill, Kan. TayBree Vialpando is Sophia’s overjoyed big sister.
