Jeannette Lea Philpott-King, 47, longtime resident of Cortez, passed away on Sept. 26, 2012. She was born March 8, 1965, in Portland, Ore.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather King; parents, Dan and Jean Philpott; sister, Christine Garvin and husband Michael; brothers, Daniel Philpott and wife Heather, and Kenneth Philpott and wife Elizabeth; by many, many nieces and nephews; and almost as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jeannette is now in God’s hands; she is loved by her family and many others who knew her, and will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life is planned for Jeannette’s invited family and all of her friends on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Evangel Assembly of God, 209 W. 5th St., Cortez. Flowers and condolences can be sent to the church for this remembrance.
