Editor: I was at the adoption, and must have seen these poor horses loaded. I think the mare in the photo is Ember, but I don’t know who the Williams family adopted with her. Those body scores are dangerously low, especially the 1. They should have been immediately transported to a local veterinarian for a thorough examination and held there until the vet released them. That’s the second step in the “chain of evidence” for prosecution If they didn’t go to a vet, I hope the agency knows how to handle their rehabilitation.
