Science kid goes Hollywood

Easton LaChappelle, the Mancos student who placed second in a national science competition, will be featured on the Nickelodeon TV show titled, “Figure It Out.” Easton recently taped the show when he went to Hollywood. The show is expected to air on Nov. 1 on Direct TV channel 299 Eastern of Nick at 5 p.m. Easton is a Mancos High senior who built a robotic hand, which placed second place in the engineering category in the Intel International Science Fair competition in May 2012. Easton, who is wearing his robotic hand, is shown surrounded by the TV show’s cast members.
