Members of the Montezuma County VFW Post 5231 Ladies Auxiliary in Mancos donated $500 to The Bridge Emergency Shelter to help veterans for Make A Difference Day. $250 was designated for a veteran and his family, as there are no family quarters available at the shelter. The other $250 was designated to help single veterans at the shelter, such as Scott Rohweder, pictured. The shelter can now help Scott with transportation, clothing, medical needs and housing. Pictured above, left to right are MB McAfee, Bridge Board Chairman; Scott Rohweder, veteran; Alice Saunders, Auxiliary President and Donna Boyd, Shelter Manager. The Ladies Auxiliary holds several fundraisers throughout the year and the money earned goes to help veterans locally, statewide, nationally and abroad.
