Tommy Danger, 30, ran into Cortez Sunday on his campaign to raise awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis. Danger plans to run from Seattle to Daytona Beach, Fla., more than 3,200 miles in a campaign called More Than Just Miles (MTJM). He is currently averaging 18 miles a day and is now heading to Albuquerque then to Dallas. For a seven day stretch in early April, Danger plans to run marathon lengths (26.2 miles) plus one 100-mile run. He hopes to finish his trek on April 13. Danger didn't know anything about Cystic Fibrosis until a close friend had a little boy (Ethan) and he was diagnosed with the disease. Danger thanks sponsors in Cortez like National Inn 9, Econolodge, American Garden Inn, and J Fargos Micro Brewery for their support. People can help by "Liking" at www.facebook.com/pages/More-Than-Just-Miles/167408316621826; there is also a Twitter (morthanjstmiles) account. Donating can be done at www.morethanjustmiles.org. All proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
