Marie was born to Ruth Willard Blair and Henry Harrison Roelfs on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1927, while the family lived at Lebanon, Colo. She passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 85.

Marie attended grades 1-8 at Lebanon and high school in Dolores where she graduated in 1945. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State College of Education in 1949 and taught Home Economics for eight years.

On Feb. 11, 1950, Marie married Samuel Glen Wilson. They lived at Yellow Jacket for three years before moving to Pleasant View. Three children were born to this union, Wesley Harrison in July 1952, Phyllis Lynn in November 1955 and Brian Glen in March 1962.

Marie and Glen were charter members of the Sylvan Presbyterian Church. After moving to Cortez she attended the Montezuma Valley Presbyterian Church where she served in many capacities. Marie enjoyed membership in Grange, Farmers Union, Order of Eastern Star and the Rainbelt Ladies Club.

Glen died October 1982 and in August 1984 Marie moved to Cortez, leaving the home Glen and she designed and built in Pleasant View. Marie loved the farm and its many aspects of raising her family there. She was able to adjust to "city life" and a new chapter in her life. Marie enjoyed many hobbies like cooking, canning, gardening, sewing and reading.

Surviving Marie are her children, Wesley Wilson and wife Chris, Phyllis Wilson, and Brian Wilson and wife Kaylyn; her grandchildren, Charlie, Kyle, Lindsey, Kelsey, Katelynn, Landan, and Tierney; two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Tyler; numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Faye Bertrand, Marge Crowley, and Eloise Wilson; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Marie was an only child but married into a large family where she was treated as a sister. They also preceded her in death; Earl and Dorothy Wood, Vick and Elsie Chaffin, J.W. Crowley, Paul and Margaret Wilson, Jim and Veda Wilson, Art (Runt) and Esther Wilson, Everett and Nancy Conrad, Adrian and Nellie Bradfield, Bent Bertrand, and Larry Wilson.
