Leola Casias Ynostroza

Ynostroza

Leola Casias Ynostroza, 63, of Westminster, Colo., and formerly of Cortez, passed away Jan. 30, 2013.

Leola will be missed by all that had the fortune to have known her. Her friends and family cherish every moment they had with her. Leola was a retired retail clerk. During her years of employment she gave the K-Mart corporation 33 years of dedicated service.

Born in Raton, N.M., Leola spent her early childhood in Brilliant, Colo. She later moved to Denver and graduated from Manual High School in 1968. Leola married Joe Ynostroza in 1969; they spent a few years in Denver before relocating to Cortez not long after her husband took a position with the Colorado State Patrol. She spent 17 happy years in the Cortez area and raised three children who all attended Montezuma Cortez High School. Leola lost Joe to a car accident in 1989; she moved and settled in Westminster not long after with her children. She was a sweet, kind lady who enjoyed most of all being a grandma and making cookies for her two grandchildren, Brianna and Darian. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and cooking her infamous Mexican dinners. Leola loved nothing more than spending time with her family and going to Mass.

Leola was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Ynostroza; and her son, Dennis Michael Ynostroza.

She is survived by her son, Joe Ynostroza; daughter, Gina Ynostroza; grandchildren, Brianna and Darian Ynostroza, all of Broomfield, Colo.; brothers, George and Dave Casias, both of Denver; sisters, Emily Castro of Westminster and Maybel Abeyta of Aurora, Colo.; and by numerous friends and family.

A rosary will be read at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, at the Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W. 10th Ave., in Broomfield, and a Mass will follow at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3141 W. 96th Ave., in Westminster. Condolence messages for the Ynostroza family may be left at www.rundus.com.
