The Cortez Lodge of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (the "Freemasons") recently held its installation of officers for 2013. The following officers, pictured from left to right, were installed: David Everett, Treasurer; Bruce Koons, Secretary; George West, Senior Deacon; Mark Martin, Senior Warden; Nathaniel Seeley, Worshipful Master; Norman Moss, Junior Warden; J.D. Hurt, Tiler; Glen Fish, Junior Deason; and Clyde Moss, Senior Steward. Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It has been active in Colorado since the mid-1800s. While membership requires a belief in a supreme deity, Freemasonry is not affiliated with any religion and welcomes members from any faith background. It does not engage in anything of a political nature. The main purpose of Freemasonry is to use its wealth of accumulated knowledge to educate and inspire its members that they may become better men, better husbands, better fathers, and better members of the community. Cortez Lodge thanks all of those members of our community who have given the organization its strength and support for many years. The 2013 officers look forward to an active year ahead.
