Medical professional to speak on Obamacare
The Republican Women's Club of Montezuma County invites all to attend their next meeting at Shiloh's on Thursday, March 14 at noon to listen to guest speaker, former American Medical Association president Dr. Bill Plested III, M.D. He will be there to discuss his opposition towards "Obamacare" - Affordable Health Care for our lives. He is passionate in his belief that patients must have the right to see the physician of their choice - and that medical decisions must be made by patients and their physicians without outside interference - especially from government. These convictions have caused him to be strongly opposed to Obamacare which he feels will increase costs, reduce access and reduce the quality of medical care in the United States.
Dr. Plested graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and his surgical training was received at UCLA. He spent three years as a surgery section chief at the Wadsworth VA Hospital in West Los Angeles, before entering into a private cardiovascular practice in Santa Monica, Calif. He was elected to the presidency of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, the California Medical Association and in 2006, the American Medical Association.
Lunch should be ordered before the meeting. For more information call Rosemarie Beall at 564-1576.
