Gabe Santacroce, a sixth-grader at Cortez Middle School, placed third at the National History Bee Regional Finals in Albuquerque last week - there are 35 different regions across the United States. Santacroce's impressive finish means he will take part in the National Championship in Atlanta on June 1. The History Bee covers both U.S. and world history, from ancient to contemporary. Santacroce's history teacher at CMS is Stephen Hanson. His parents are Melissa Santacroce and Bill Volf.
