William Eugene "Bill" Baker
Graveside inurnment services for lifelong area resident William Eugene "Bill" Baker will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 21 at Cortez Cemetery.
Bill was born October 6, 1930 in Mancos to Hiram Ensley and Easter Hazel (Nelson) Baker. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the age of 82.
Bill loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed working in his garden and pasture. Bill was a member of the VFW.
Surviving Bill are his sister, Charlotte Baxstrom of Mancos; nieces, Janice Baxstrom of Mancos and Joyce Ann Kirk and husband, Dennis of Golden Valley, Ariz.; nephews, Bruce Baker and wife, Betty of Mancos and Douglas Baker of Mancos; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, George Baxstrom.
