Funeral Mass for Lewis resident Andres Reyna Hernandez will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Reverend Pat Valdez, C.R. will officiate.

Visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Rosary services will be held at 6 p.m. at the church.

Andres was born Nov. 30, 1931, in Rayon, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the son of Tomas Hernandez Medina and Ramona Reyna. He passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at his residence at the age of 81.

Andres was a devoted Catholic and was a deacon at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. His faith was very important to him. In his free time, Andres enjoyed fishing and gardening. He liked listening to all genres of music, and working on cars was another passion of his. On Sept. 6, 1959, in Fort Stockton, Texas, Andres married Margarita Gonsalez.

Surviving Andres are his son, Tony Hernandez and wife, Maria of Lewis; his grandchildren, Joseph David "Joey" Hernandez of Durango, John J. "Johnny" Hernandez of Lewis, Nicole Ramirez of El Paso, Texas, and Emily Pules Robinson of Odessa, Tex. Andres also leaves behind his step-mother, Florentina Sanchez De Hernandez; and his siblings, Ma. Luisa Hernandez Sanchez, Ma. Elena Hernandez Sanchez, Gloria Hernandez Sanchez, Jaime Contreras Huerta, Eduardo Martinez Benzor, Pablo Hernandez Reyna, Felipa Hernandez Reyna, Lucina Hernandez Reyna, Justina Hernandez Reyna, Maria Fernanda Contreras Hernandez, Lorena Contreras Hernandez, Adolfo Tomas Hernandez Sanchez, Rodrigo Martinez Hernandez, and Marco Flavio Martinez Hernandez. Andres was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Margarita Hernandez; and his brother, Flavio Hernandez Sanchez.
