This is Lucky. He was found and brought to the Animal Shelter. Lucky is a neutered adult male bluetick coonhound and gets along great with other dogs. Full of energy, he will need a large area and plenty of exercise. He has a wonderful voice that he likes to make heard often. Being a hound, he will need a secure fence or kennel or he will follow his nose and hunt. The Cortez Animal Shelter is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and closed every other Friday for intensive cleaning of the kennels. The shelter will be open this Friday. The fee for adoption includes spay or neuter, first vaccines excluding rabies, microchip, and a free health exam from local vets. The shelter can use donations of supplies such as paper towels, unscented bleach, dog treats, non clumping cat litter, Pedigree or Iams dog food and puppy food. For more information call the Cortez Animal Shelter at 565-4910. To view adoptable pets online, visit and enter the zip code 81321 or
