“Dad touched so many lives with his acts of kindness. He opened his home to those he trusted and cherished. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing with his kids and grandkids and working the land he loved. Dad could gentle even the wildest horse and was working with an Appaloosa at the time of his death. He loved tending his vegetable garden and still canned vegetables and fruit to enjoy during those long winter months. Dad was an avid reader, a gift he shared with his children. We love you and will miss you, daddy. We are all better for having known you.”
Don served in the Korean War and was a double charter member of the Mancos V.F.W. #5231, serving as Commander.
Cremation has taken place per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Montezuma or the Mancos VFW.
