Sandra Jean Sangosti

Sandra Jean Sangosti was born in Gunnison, Colo., on June 5, 1963, daughter to LaVeta and SJ Sangosti. She passed away on the evening of Oct. 31, 2013.

She graduated from Western State Colorado University with her teaching degree. For years, she had been a passionate educator at Gunnison High School and possessed the beautiful ability of explaining even the most challenging of subjects, math.

Sandy was a girly girl with a passion for high heels, teased blonde hair and lipstick. As much as she loved shopping, she also enjoyed fishing and hiking, even going as far as Mesa Verde. She spent time collecting arrowheads around the Gunnison area and photographing Indian pictographs. She was also passionate about her pets and was the mom to many memorable cats and dogs.

Surviving Sandy is her mother, LaVeta Sangosti; sisters, Shelly Sangosti and Selma Eastman; brother in-law, Brent Eastman; nephew, Blake Eastman; and niece, Stephanie Dawes. She also leaves behind three step-daughters, Camille and Nicki Williamson and Gerilyn Kruthaupt.

Bright and energized, she was a force to be reckoned with and will be remembered as such.
