Carolyn E. Jordan
Carolyn E. Clifford Jordan, 76, departed this world Dec. 15, 2013, in Pueblo.
She was born May 17, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Helen and Robert Clifford. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and attended Washington University in St. Louis, graduating in 1960 with a degree in fine arts. Carolyn worked as an illustrator for Sears in St. Louis and May D&F in Denver. On June 14, 1964, she married Charles W. Jordan, and they had four children. She returned to art, teaching at Lamar Community College in Lamar and San Juan College in Farmington. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and PEO. She was the first Secretary of the Navy Wives Club (plank owner) of the carrier USS America. She held numerous honors in the art world, and many of her paintings and drawings are in private collections.
Her parents preceded her in death, as did her sister, her niece, and her husband.
Survivors include daughter Ellen of Kennesaw, Ga.; daughter Jennifer and husband William Kemp of Penrose, Colo.; son Michael Jordan and wife Heidi of Durango, Colo.; and daughter Julie and husband Mike Barker of Canon City, Colo. She is also survived by 13 beloved grandchildren: Jessica, Keegan, Jake, C.J., Michael, Josalee, Megan, Dane, Chloe, Ethan, Aislinn, Joshua and Fianna.
Carolyn embodied grace, artistry and fine humor. She was fiercely devoted to her children and will be missed by those who knew and loved her well.
The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
