The Cortez Quilt Company recently held a food drive for the Good Samaritan Center. More than 30 customers donated a total of 400 items for the local food bank. Cortez Quilt Company matched the donation with another 400 items. Pictured here is Good Samaritan Center Director, Kristen Tworek and Karen Childress, owner of Cortez Quilt Company. “We were overwhelmed by the response we received for the food drive. Quilters are generous in so many ways,” said Childress. “This was a very easy way to give something back to the community and we encourage other local businesses to consider helping out the food bank and other local charitable organizations.”
People are encouraged to submit announcements about upcoming events for the Community Calendar. Send announcements to email@example.com. Items submitted less than two weeks in advance will be less likely to be published.
