Funeral Mass for lifelong Tierra Amarilla, N.M., and current Cortez resident Casilda Olivas Salazar were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 3, at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, N.M.

Rosary services werre held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 2 at the church.

Casilda was born May 22, 1914 in Canoñes, N.M., the daughter of Maximiano and Raquel (Romero) Olivas. She passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 99.

Casilda was preceded in death by her parents, Maximiano and Raquel Olivas; her husband, Eulogio Salazar Sr.; her son, Eulogio Salazar Jr.; her daughter, Amelia Montaño; her grandson, Ricky Garcia; her siblings, Max Olivas Jr., Jose Olivas, Tony Olivas, Maximo Olivas, Agapito Olivas, Aurelia Olivas Ulibarri, and Cornelia Olivas; and by her sons-in-law, Eddie Garcia and Fred Madrid.

Surviving Casilda are her daughters: Amelia Montaño, Theresa Garcia, and Helen Salazar; and her grandchildren, Melisha Montaño, Mark Montaño (Kim), Melvin Montaño (Christine) Irene “Pebbles” Garcia, Anthony Ray Salazar, Karrie Leann Salazar, Melanie Salazar (Elena Chavez) and Frank Salazar (Brittany). Casilda also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Ronald N. Ulibarri Jr. (Amanda), Emmitt Zacary Montaño, Mark Garrett Montaño, Michael Montaño, Ursula Jude Montaño (Davy), Dominic Ronald Montaño, David Michael Sanchez, Dillon Robert Trujillo, Brandon James Trujillo, Amber Chavez, Eiljah Chavez, Meliane Chavez, Lyrica Chavez, and Michelle Chavez; by her great-great-grandchildren, Garrett Eliseo Ulibarri, Juan Montaño, Frankie Salazar Jr., and Dallas Salazar; her sister, Josie Lopez Cisneros and by her son-in-law, Vicente Montaño.

Arrangements were under the direction of Four Corners Funeral Chapel, Cortez, Colo.
