Edward Ruben McEwen
Edward Ruben McEwen, 53 of Tucson, Ariz., passed away April 6, 2014, in Tucson. He was born Oct. 24, 1960, to Ruben and Florence McEwen in Cortez, Colo.
Ed grew up in Dolores, Colo., and was known as little Ruben to his family. He graduated from Dolores High School in 1980.
After high school, he moved to Tucson, Ariz., and it became his home.
He worked as a manager of Campbell Hardware for around 23 years.
Ed loved to reminisce of growing up and reflect on family.
Ed loved the hard rock band KISS and collected a lot of their memorabilia.
Ed is survived by his mother, Florence McEwen of Cortez; brother, John McEwen of Dolores; sisters Coline Lovett of Cortez, and Melonee Pettis of Winchester, Calif.; nephews Kelen Lovett of Dolores, Keenen Lovett and family of Cortez, Elijah and Nicolas Pettis of Winchester, Calif.; niece Dawn Dorn and family of Merkel, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben McEwen and brother, Scotty McEwen.
Ed had many other extended family members and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made at the Dolores State Bank and will be donated to Peppi’s House, located in the Tucson Medical Center, a beautiful facility where caring angels took care of him during the last part of his life.
A memorial will take place at a later date.
