2:43 p.m. A woman had $360 stolen from her unlocked car on Madison Street. She left the money in the console of the car at 8:30 a.m. When she she went back out to the car at 2:15 p.m.,she found her car in disarray and the money that she intended to use for her car payment missing.

Theft

Monday June 16

11:44 a.m. A woman reported that she had WIC checks stolen from her unlocked cars on Jackson Street during the night. She told a police officer that her dogs acted strange about 4 a.m.

Trespassing

Monday June 16

1:42 a.m. An elderly woman on Carpenter Street called to report a man had broken into her home. She had been sleeping when she found him standing in her hallway. She didn’t find anything missing, but the police found the wooden trim around her front door had been broken and the door chain had been ripped from the wood. The woman described the intruder as a Native American in his 20s or 30s and clothed in blue jeans, a dark shirt and a straw cowboy hat. The police searched the area but didn’t find anyone.

Burglary

Monday June 16

2:12 a.m. An employee of Mr. Happy’s Bar called to report a theft in progress of alcohol. The person said two suspects left the bar in a red four-door Toyota. A police officer heard the description over the radio and pulled over a red four-door Toyota on Montezuma Street. The officer smelled alcohol on both men in the car but didn’t find alcohol in the car. Another officer responded to the bar and found two six-packs of beer and a box of wine behind the business. Security camera footage from the business showed two men stealing alcohol from the cooler. One of the men in the tape was in the red Toyota, and he was arrested. The other person in the video was not identified, according to police.

Drug possession

Saturday June 14

7:55 p.m. Two men and a woman appeared to be drinking in the pocket park on Market Street when a police officer arrived. When the woman was questioned, she appeared to be sober and was allowed to leave. The police officer patted down both men after seeing a pocket knife on one of them. While patting them down, the officer observed one man place a glass pipe in his pocket. After he was questioned, the man admitted the pipe was used to smoke meth and that the had 0.6 gram of meth in his wallet. The officer arrested the man.
