Blanchard Weber

After a courageous battle with cancer, Blanchard Weber, 73, of Cahone, Colo., passed away on June 20, 2014, at home with his family. He was born to Matt and Ruth Weber in Virginia, on the day after his mother’s birthday in April 1941.

After he graduated from University of The South, he had the opportunity to explore, travel, and teach English in Morocco for several years while in the Peace Corps. After returning to the U.S., he set off to explore the western United States. He settled in the Boulder, Colo., area and had a satisfying career in the computer industry for many years. He served as a volunteer firefighter and first responder for his community for more than 15 years. He was an astounding fly fisherman, an accomplished finger-picking guitar player, an avid reader, a connoisseur of classical music, and enjoyed exploring, hiking, and collecting rocks with his family.

He will be missed greatly by his wife Lori, sons Brian and Dan, daughter-in-law Crystal, sister Elsie, brother Chuck, nephews Allen and Seth, nieces Emily and Maura, best friend Max, and his cat “uh-oh”. He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
