Graveside services for Louise Aulston will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Fairview Cemetery. Chan Chaffin will officiate.
Louise was in the Southwest Memorial Hospital when she went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born the second of nine children on February 9, 1920 in Cove, Ark. to Oscar and Fannie (Hughes) Rhodes.
In January of 1939 Louise married Link Aulston in Mancos. They moved to the Yellow Jacket area where they farmed until their retirement. Afterwards they lived in Cortez and in Mesa, Ariz.
Louise was active in the Home Demonstration Club, the Yellow Jacket Grange, and she was also a member of the Cortez First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She was a wonderful cook and provided countless meals for her family, friends and relatives. She was also an accomplished seamstress.
Louise is survived by one brother and four sisters; her children, Judi Louie (Kendrick), Jan Hollstein, Gayle Aulston, and Vernal Aulston (Georgia). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Cherie Glazner, Gordon Glazner, Scott Oliver, Shelly Oliver, Monique Aulston, Daren Aulston, and Brent Aulston; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, and two sisters; her husband, Link; her daughter-in-law, Sandee Aulston; and her son-in-law, Larry Hollstein.
