Lowell Ingvold Larson

Lowell Ingvold Larson, a longtime resident of Cortez, died on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at the Hospital in Roswell, N.M. He was born on March 25, 1933, in Bottineau, N.D., to Albert and Alyda (Hoffus) Larson.

Lowell attended school in the Bottineau area and served in the Army in Germany. On Feb. 14, 1955, he married Eleanore Gessner in Minot, N.D., and they had two children, Brad Larson of Artesia, N.M., and Dawn Larson of Houston.

Lowell and Eleanore moved to Cortez in 1982. They moved to Artesia, N.M., in 2012 to be closer to their son and his family.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alyda, and siblings Harold, Yvonne, Mavis, Carol, and David. He is survived by his wife, Eleanore; children Brad and wife Nancy of Artesia, N.M., and Dawn of Houston; siblings Audrin, Elmon, Sharon, Timothy, Tessie, Paulette and Mathew; and three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held later.
