Winner of the Herald caption contest is ...
This scene captured by Herald photographer Steve Lewis’ lens begged for a humorous caption. So, on Friday’s Page 3A, we asked readers to write a worthy pun. Here are some of the top contenders we received in response to our solicitation:
“She doesn’t eat much, and doesn’t talk back either,” Sharon Moyer.
“Frozen pedestrian gets assistance from local good Samaritan,” Susannah Standal.
“I promise not to use you for target practice,” Debra Lehl.
“I thought a few drinks might loosen her up,” Nancy Strait.
“That’s the most uptight woman I’ve ever seen,” Nancy Strait.
“Dummy-rights activists protest mannequin control proposals,” Jack Turner.
“I told you that ice was too thin on that pond!” Kay Neal.
And the winner is ...
“This is not what I had in mind when I signed up for Match.com,” Debra Lehl.
(For the record, here’s the actual caption: Steve Vittetow, a member of the Colorado Bowhunters Association, traverses Main Avenue with a mannequin to be used to display camouflage clothing at a CBA banquet this weekend.)
