Durango school board candidates share their views

Ten candidates – including three incumbents – are vying for five open seats on the Durango School District 9-R Board of Directors. A sixth seat, District D, is open but no one is running for it. The seventh seat is held by Kristi Rodri, who represents District A; she is not up for re-election.

Also on the ballot is a proposal to shrink the board from seven members to five, and statewide ballot initiative 3A, which will determine whether public education in Colorado gets more funding.

Ballots will be mailed to registered voters beginning Oct. 15. They must be returned or dropped off at an official drop-off location no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5. Meet the school board candidates through their answers to questions posed by The Durango Herald.
