Loveland church's garden for needy is blooming

Roxanne Goodrich works in the garden at the King of Glory Lutheran Church in Loveland. Goodrich is a parishioner at the church and volunteers her time to help in the garden. Recently, a group of its parishioners planted an idea of a simple way to fight hunger right here at home.

Fundraiser donation

Heritage Sunday
St. Barnabas Episcopal Church celebrated Heritage Sunday on June 27. Jeanette Snow and Jason McLaughlin reminisced over photos of Camp Ilium, a summer camp for children that operated from 1964 until 2004. St. Barnabas purchased the old Ilium Power Plant, west of Telluride on 16 acres in 1964 and converted the buildings to camp use.

Interdenominational group will gather, pray for nation
An interdenominational prayer for anyone who desires to pray for America or for any needs that one may have is held at 3 p.m. every Tuesday throughout the summer at City Park in Cortez.

The nation is in turmoil and constant, serious prayer is needed, according to organizers for the event. People are asked to join if they can, or to pray on their own during this time.

Anger doesn't have to equal sin
If we say someone is "good and angry," we usually mean that he is really mad. But, as the title of the next few Notes and Quotes articles, that expression takes on a new meaning. I will try to show that you can be good at the same time you are angry. But it will take some spiritual discipline.
