Women's suffrage
Ninety years ago today, the U.S. secretary of state recognized the passage of the 19th Amendment and proclaimed it officially part of the Constitution. With that, the right to vote was extended to American women nationwide, and a decades-long struggle came to an end. It was a great, and long-overdue, moment in American history.
